Yesterday we ran the NIO Vision Marathon – the 2km blindfolded buddy run. It was to create a world record and also to support the cause – No More Avoidable Blindness. It was an unparalleled experience no doubt, but it isn’t as easy as it sounds. Doing so requires you to be mentally alert, have the patience to listen, and more importantly the trust in your buddy.
While a lot of people had a sense of achievement after the run, we were introduced to Amarjeet Singh Chawla – aptly known as the SportySikh who ran Mumbai to Pune even though he is visually impaired.
This event changed our perspective to look at things. When we look at our adversities, we are sad. But then there are people who are less fortunate than us, who are able to achieve big despite bigger adversities.
So when you have Monday blues, look around. There definitely are people with bigger adversities than yours, but they are still wearing a smile on a Monday. If they can, you definitely can!
