We are at the year’s half-way mark. Usually, many companies have a mid-year formal performance review process. Does your organization have one? If yes, great!
If not, you must start a dialogue with your managers to have a mid-year review of your performance. Have an open discussion get to know how your manager views your progress so far and what plans does s/he have for you for the rest of the year.
Oh yeah, some of you may look at it as showing a red tag to a bull. You may also opine that the discussion may lead to more Monday blues than beating them. But as a matter of fact, it is quite the opposite.
If you are looking to have breakthroughs in your career at the end of the year and wish to have a great appraisal discussion at the end of the year; it is imperative that you know how your manager views your progress so far. Are you on the right track? Is your manager thrilled with what you have achieved?–The best way to get these questions answered is to have this dreaded conversation.
